About me
I'm Anita and the AVA Lab(oratory) is my little creative space. My mind is constantly buzzing with ideas and I’m always dreaming up projects. I have an inquisitive nature, I’ve often been called a ball-of-fire and I rarely take ‘no’ for an answer. As a maker, I like ceramics because it allows me to create something tangible. As an artist, I put a bit of ‘me’ into all my creations.
My collections are made up of individual pieces, all slightly different from one another. They are meant to be aesthetically pleasing and to easily find a place in your home.

About my work
I’ve been playing with clay since 2016. I first became fascinated with the work of various potters and ceramists. Then I thought I would give it a go myself. Back then I was at a point in my life when I really needed a creative outlet, to be able to create something of my own. First pottery class and I was completely hooked! Since then, I’ve been playing every chance I get and, through lots (lots and lots) of practice, study, small successes, various failures and a whole bunch of energy, I have grown so much.
Many things inspire me: places, emotions, colours, shapes, forms. With each piece and collection I put together I use elements that matter to me, that have impressed me and that I find myself in. My pieces are meant to bring all that inspires me together. My collections are made up of individual pieces, all slightly different from one another, that are meant to be aesthetically pleasing and to easily find a place in your home. I make functional pieces but I am also exploring creating decorative items. Come join me on my creative journey and, who knows, maybe you’ll find something you like.
