FAQ

All sales are considered final and I am unable to offer cancellations or return options once you have placed an order. Please ensure all details are correct before placing your order. 

I put the utmost attention in the packaging of every single item as there is nothing more frustrating than to see the work of weeks being shattered before it even reaches customers. Nevertheless, accidents can always happen, unfortunately. If you receive damaged or wrong items, please contact me via email at avalab.shop@gmail.com within 48 hours of the delivery date with a detailed written description, your order number and photos/video of the (state of your) items. Refunds in these situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. 

In the case of faulty or damaged items, or if an incorrect order is received, I will do my best to exchange/provide you with the correct item(s) as soon as possible.

I ship internationally (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Italy, Romania, United Kingdom). If your country is not listed, please contact avalab.shop@gmail.com. All items "in stock" and available on the shop are prepared and shipped within 2-5 working days. On the day of shipment you will receive a notification of the shipment with the tracking code attached. 

If you live locally and would prefer to come pick up your order from the AVA Lab in Brussels, instead of having it shipped to you, please choose ‘pickup’ as delivery method. This will, of course, be free of charge. 

To schedule your pickup time, please email: avalab.shop@gmail.com. In the subject line, please include that you are picking up your order, along with your order number. In the body of the email include your preferred pickup dates/times.

AVA Lab is not responsible for tax or customs charges. Please keep in mind that you may need to pay customs fees upon pickup of your parcel.

All AVA Lab ceramics intended for food-use are made of high temperature fired stoneware and glazed with FOOD SAFE certified glazes and therefore can be washed in the dishwasher. I do, however, recommend (mostly) hand washing as it is more delicate on surfaces and glazes and guarantees a longer life to any handcrafted ceramic object.

In the event of washing in the dishwasher, it is recommended to use a gentle washing programme and the use of mildly aggressive detergents. 

Stoneware is a material that can be used in the microwave. Please take care and do not over-heat.

I try my hardest to apply the three Rs of sustainability in my practice: reduce, reuse and recycle. I mostly re-use old boxes (which I received myself or I get from friends/neighbours) and make my own perforated cardboard from old boxes/cardboard. Any bubblewrap or peanuts I may use to package your items are either recycled or outsourced sustainably and will be recyclable.
